Don't slap your wife...really

You know I've discovered a funny book, really funny which may have some truth hidden though. It boasts to speak for a man's rights. It is for men vying to be reasonably good husbands through trial and error. But anybody can relish on the contents of the self-help novel. Its synopsis shared with me by its publisher says “Men trying to be better husbands through trial and error will welcome the wisdom, humour and aphorisms...”

The title of the book itself is interesting and extremely funny “Don't Slap Your Wife”. While the title warns husbands, the book seems to suggest husbands not to be hen-pecked and slapped. According to the book synopsis, the book demystifies some of the tribulations married couples face, including day-to-day interactions with each other, adjustments during and after the honeymoon phase, and even pent-up resentment. It asks married men to delve into the innermost workings of relationships to get the best out of the women they have invited into their lives and families.

Well, this sounds interesting. It seems every husband should grab a copy and learn the tips to make their married lives happy. But the book back-cover further boasts that it deals with a serious subject lightly, and in an inimitably honest and irreverent way. It also boasts to be amusing and thought-provoking. But the question is whether it will help husbands navigate the sometimes confusing territory of marriage as it claims.

My suggestion is experience is the best teacher to deal with situations. The book can only help you to a certain point. Use your wisdom while you pick up the title from bookstores or online bookstores like www.Flipkart.com, www.homeshop18.com, etc.

Authored by Dr Sunil Vaid who is an allopathic doctor specializing in Paediatrics, the book surely has content which can be welcomed. Vaid belongs to a family who have for generations been Vaids, traditional ayurvedic healers. A motivational speaker, he is also the author of six published books.
