Publicising a novel

I'm sure all of us go with the tips on how to write a novel, how to finish writing a good cookbook, a biography, a story, a poetry book and so on and so forth. I'm sure you are still doing that. I doubt any of them ever helped you. Indeed this is true. The tips gotten on the internet on how to write a book in a one month barely help authors. At the end of the day it is something else that inspires you to write, finish a book.

It is not so simple to write a book and be accepted. Many write and don't get published. Authors are bound to live in extreme poverty in the beginning of their career. It was and is a bare reality. Like my previous article that talks about how authors find it difficult to pay bills, I found a beautiful article "
Anakana Schofield: publicising a novel - the problems" on The Guardian.

Practically a number of challenges are there. Media hype often distracts budding authors. They listen to the stories about the famous authors and how they finished their novels, how they went about it, how they got the idea to depict a particular situation in their book. However, most of the times the fake truth comes out. Even famous authors lie and misguide. It is perhaps not possible to experience everything personally and then write. Ideas might travel to you in several forms and yet unique in a way that they look real.

It is my humble request to all of you that you go through the article once and see what you are after. This has truth hidden and might help you relook at yourself.
