Those famous writers have a tendency to believe that they control the reader's sentiments. They don't. They control the publisher's sentiments instead, because the publishers have the money and control to influence the market and the media. Most of these authors are thus overrated ones who have earned the fame because the publishers wanted more sales of copies on the basis of marketing.
Among those overrated writers sit on the top are Dan Brown, Poulo Coehlo, etc. When their book is set for launch, their publishers are on the prowl to market their books in every possible way. In many of their books exists no valuable story content. However, they are best-sellers. And you know, the bestseller authors have a larger influence on the new readers. A wave or a frenzy sweeps the market.
