How does a heat pump work

We have brought to you an informative article that will tell you how a heat pump works. As an example we have taken the example of Trane XE1000 which is a popular brand owned by Trane Company. Trane manufactures air conditioners, heat pumps, compressor and their parts. Trane XE1000 heat pumps are specifically designed to heat and cool the homes. The product has been developed from scratch by Trane keeping in mind the market demand. The company has designed and manufactured end-to-end product in-house. The company believes that its innovative approach to develop, design and manufacture products within the company make it a reliable and affordable choice for the consumers.
The Trane XE 1000 comes packed with 15 feet of piping and can also bear outdoor temperature of up to 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Yet, it is important to know that a variety of models are available for the XE 1000 in the market. Every model boasts of the same basic features and components. However, the major differentiator is their size which fits particular requirements.

How does the compressor work?
The Trane XE 1000 gives better performance because of its Climatuff compressor that powers it. The compressor has been rated highest in its category. The heat pump unit consists of four major parts, of which the compressor is the first.  This unit uses gas which can be changed into a liquid and vice-a-versa. This is the main activity of the compressor which compresses the gas into a high temperature gas. The gas is then moved to the next phase. Usually a compressor is rated in tons. Each ton is equal to 12,000 BTUs (British thermal units).

Condenser and evaporator
The next unit in a heat pump is condenser. In The Trane XE 1000, a spine fin coil system is used. The fins have been placed right on the condenser as the main function of the condenser is to radiate the heat away from the gas. In other words the condenser cools the gas and changes it back into a liquid. But this liquid is still under high pressure.
The evaporator is manufactured to cool to an ambient temperature of 55 degrees Fahrenheit. But some of its parts might cool to as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit. After the condenser has released the liquid gas, it moves further using a small hole into the evaporator. This process is used for reducing the pressure on the liquid which then evaporates back into the gas. The evaporator also includes fins because the liquid evaporation pulls heat out of the air. As a result, a fan spreads the air from the evaporator into the house.

Defroster
As the fourth unit of the heat pump, a defroster helps the pump when it accumulates the frost. The coils used on the condenser often freeze when a heat pump releases heat. However, the Trane XE 1000 takes care of any frost which accumulates around the condenser as the heat pump features an electronic defrost controller. The controller lets the heat pump to switch back to a.c mode temporarily to warm up the coils so that the ice melts. Burners in it help in heating up the cold air. The Trane XE 1000 comes packed in an steel cabinet that protects
